“Shilpa is confronting her adversaries,” says Publicist

"Like in Hindi films, the hero, with all his goodness, comes out victorious in the end, I have a very strong feeling, Shilpa Shetty too, will meet the same fate in 'Celebrity Big Brother' by the time it ends," said the actress's spokesperson and publicist Dale Bhagwagar at a very candid-looking Press Conference in Mumbai, held to clarify aspects of racism surrounding her in the UK-reality show.

In a televised chat with Big Brother, Shilpa has recently denied that fellow contestant Jade Goody passed any racist comment on her. "Don't doubt that! It is true," stated Bhagwagar and added, "Jade has called her names, taunted and insulted her several times, but the ones who have passed the racist comments are Jack Tweed (Jade's boyfriend, who is also a participant on the show) and Jackiey Budden (Jade's mom, who was evicted last week)." "Seems, it's all in the family," he laughed.

The publicist also slammed the Indian media for "misrepresentation of certain facts". "Our media is incorrectly reporting that Shilpa has been 'tolerating' and 'bearing' the racial insults for the sake of staying put on the show. That is not only false, but being unfair to Shilpa," said Bhagwagar.

Elaborating further, he informed, "Apart from being abused with four-letter words, Shilpa has been told by two of the female contestants that they "hate" her and find her "fake". But the racial comments like calling her a "Paki" (by Jack) and continuously addressing her as "that Indian" (by Jackiey) in a derogatory manner, have happened behind her back. Danielle Llyod called her a "dog" on the show, but that too was behind her back.

So there's no question of Shilpa reacting to such comments, when she is not even aware of them. There is no communication to the outside world allowed in the show, so Shilpa wouldn't even know of the raging controversies and outrage that is taking place in India and United Kingdom. She will only come to know which room's camera had captured what footage (that the channel aired to the outside world), when she comes out of the show".

“As of now, Shilpa has made it a point to confront the three participants (Jack, Jade and Danielle) whenever they pass any nasty comment on her. She very much puts in her best efforts to fight back their insults in the most dignified way possible, in spite of the three ganging up against her pretty often," Bhagwagar added.

Like it or not, but any publicity is good publicity. For Shilpa Shetty is gonna go places once she is out of this Bigg Brotherly mess. Everyone seems to be benefiting from this Royal British Drama. Isn’t it!
